A hosting account can show three PHP tools that sound interchangeable. Start with the question you need to answer: which engine runs the site, which extensions it loads, or which limits it uses?

Choose the right control

MultiPHP Manager assigns an installed PHP version to a domain’s document root. MultiPHP INI Editor changes supported configuration directives. CloudLinux Select PHP Version, also called PHP Selector, selects an alternative PHP runtime and offers account-level extension and option controls when enabled. It does not install new PHP releases on the server.

A safe decision sequence

  1. Open Domains and identify the website and its document root. Two names sharing a root are not independent PHP environments.
  2. Record the current MultiPHP selection. Ask support whether the domain uses EasyApache PHP, CloudLinux PHP Selector or PHP-FPM.
  3. If the domain uses EasyApache PHP, choose its version in MultiPHP Manager and use its applicable INI controls. Selector extension checkboxes do not configure that runtime.
  4. For CloudLinux Selector, follow the host’s integration instructions. In the common integration described by cPanel, Inherit is recommended so Selector can take effect. Handler and FPM configuration can change this relationship.
  5. Verify the effective version through the application’s protected system-information screen. Test login, uploads and scheduled tasks.

Avoid competing changes

Do not repeatedly switch both tools until the page works. Change one layer, then check the result. A missing extension and an incompatible plugin need different fixes. If a tool is absent, it may be disabled for the hosting package.

For support, send the domain, affected URL, time of failure and setting changed. Keep passwords and full phpinfo output private.
